Dave Brand is a certified professional leadership coach, ELI Master Practitioner, and CISM peer who helps emergency services personnel overcome operational stress to become magnetic, balanced, high-performance leaders. Dave is also the President of the IAEM Canada Council Alberta Region, the Director of Emergency Management for Red Deer County, Alberta, a professional civil engineer, and an incident management team leader with over 20 years of experience working with government agencies of all levels. Dave’s experience building high-performance teams and working as a civil engineer on critical community infrastructure across Western Canada taught him the value of empathy and curiosity in leadership. Dave is passionate about changing the perspective, viewing challenges that face emergency responders and incident management personnel as opportunities to improve relationships and team performance through increased empathy, authentic leadership, emotional intelligence, and community engagement.
