Mahmood Fayazi

Mahmood Fayazi is a researcher at the Centre RISC (Centre de recherche innovant en sécurité civile du Québec). since January 2020, Dr. Fayazi also has been an adjunct professor at the University of Montréal's School of Architecture. He holds a Ph.D. in Planning from the University of Montreal, and his research aims to explain why and how environmental disturbances, climate change pressures and post-disaster interventions affect human settlements. Before joining the Center RISC in March 2021, Dr. Fayazi participated in several research projects in South Asia, the Middle East, and North America. His areas of expertise are climate justice, urban resilience, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction. He has published the results of his research in a book, several scientific articles and at numerous international conferences.
