Jillian Mullowney, BSW RSW, has over fifteen years of experience in community development and service delivery, specializing in disaster response and community resilience. Her career spans roles in Emergency Management operations, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, and Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Change Adaptation. Currently pursuing her MSW, Jillian is the Program Advisor for DRR-CCA in Atlantic Canada, overseeing initiatives to enhance disaster preparedness and climate change adaptation strategies. As the Geographic Lead for Roots for Resilience in Southwestern Newfoundland and Labrador, she supports community-based projects in the Bay St. George and Port Aux Basques regions, focusing on building local resilience through education, training, and resource development. Jillian advocates for a whole-community approach to resiliency, uplifting vulnerable populations with a strengths-based lens.
