Darren Blackburn is a program director with Justice Institute of British Columbia overseeing credential programs related to emergency, security, and disaster management. Darren is also a doctoral student with UBC's Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program pursuing research on professional identity formation in Canadian emergency managers in support of creating purposeful pedagogical interventions for students entering the field. Darren's UBC research is supported through a UBC Four Year Doctoral Fellowship, a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship, and a DND MINDS Scholarship.
